DMV Permit Practice Test (Android) · Last updated 9 September 2026

This app helps you prepare for a US learner permit knowledge test. This page explains exactly what it collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Who is responsible

DMV Permit Practice Test is published by IrfanEdu. If you have a question about anything on this page, or want your data removed, write to dr.irfan.mansuri@gmail.com.

What the app collects

Your Google account

Signing in with Google is required to use the app. Google gives us the following from the account you pick:

Sign-in exists so your study progress survives a lost or replaced phone. We do not read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, files, or any other Google service, and we never ask for permission to.

Your study progress

Everything the app records about your studying stays on your phone in a local database, and a copy is backed up to your account so it can be restored later. That copy contains:

What the app does not collect

Where it goes

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC Your Google account identity, and the study-progress backup described above Signing you in, and restoring your progress on a new device
Google Play Billing, operated by Google LLC Handles the purchase itself. The app only ever learns whether the unlock is owned Processing the one-time full-access purchase
Cloudflare (Workers and R2) The app downloads question and image updates. These requests carry no account identity; Cloudflare sees the usual network metadata such as an IP address in its transient service logs Delivering corrected and new questions without a store update

Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. There is no third party beyond the three above.

Purchases

The app offers one optional purchase: a one-time unlock for unlimited practice, your state's question bank, and full mock exams. It is not a subscription and it does not renew. The payment is processed entirely by Google Play - the app never sees, receives, or stores your card, UPI, bank, or billing address details. All the app receives back from Google is a yes-or-no answer about whether your Google account owns the unlock, which is stored on your device so it keeps working offline.

How long it is kept

Your progress backup is kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is deleted with it - see below. Uninstalling the app removes the local copy on that phone, but leaves the backup so a reinstall can restore it.

Deleting your data

In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete all my data. This permanently deletes your account, the cloud backup, and every test result, in one step.

If you no longer have the app installed, follow the instructions on the account deletion page, or just email dr.irfan.mansuri@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and we will delete it for you.

Deleting your data does not cancel or refund a Google Play purchase - refunds are handled by Google Play, and the unlock remains attached to your Google account.

Children

Learner permit applicants are typically 15 or older, and the app is aimed at them and at adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has signed in, email us and we will delete the account.

Security

All network traffic uses HTTPS. Progress backups sit behind Firebase security rules that allow each signed-in user to read and write only their own document; no user can read another user's data. That said, no system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.

Your rights

Depending on where you live - for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA in California - you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. The in-app delete covers erasure immediately; for anything else, email dr.irfan.mansuri@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date at the top. A change that materially affects what is collected will also be announced inside the app before it takes effect.
